Intergenerational Round Robin at DOROT

DOROT alleviates social isolation among the elderly and provides services to help them live independently as valued members of the community. DOROT serves the Jewish and wider community, bringing the generations together in a mutually beneficial partnership of elders, volunteers and professionals.

When:  Wed. May 25th from 3:30-5:00pm.

 

Where: DOROT,  171 West 85th Street New York, NY 10024

What: 

Intergenerational Round Robin : Lower Lab students will receive an orientation and then divide into three or four stations within the room. At each station, students spend ten minutes participating in a different activity with a senior before moving onto the next station. For example, students may conduct a brief oral history interview at one station, make holiday or birthday cards at a second station, and learn how to make origami at a third station.

Who: 20 spots for 4th and 5th graders

We will need 3 chaperones. For the rest of the students, this will be a drop-off/pick up project.
