Grad Rates for Public Schools Continue to Rise – Mayor de Blasio and Chancellor Carmen Fariña announced that New York City’s four-year high school graduation rate hit a historic high in 2016 – 72.6 percent. The dropout rate also fell to the lowest ever – 8.5 percent.

A Story of Renewal: P.S. 154 in the Bronx – Since 2014, the Department of Education’s Renewal School Program has been working to transform New York City’s lowest-performing schools into outstanding and accountable learning institutions with strong parental and community involvement, rigorous instruction, and collaborative teachers.
