Dear Families,

I am so pleased to update you on our Lower Lab Values.  As you probably know, we followed up on our January value of RESPECT with our February value of EMPATHY.

After a month of activities, conversations and role plays around what it feels like to be in another person’s shoes and how to think about another person’s perspective/point of view in different situations, we celebrated with a culminating assembly this Wednesday morning.  It was glorious!  The children and staff were a sea of red, wearing red shirts, dresses, sweatshirts, etc. to represent our core value for the month.  They also proudly wore their new buttons, got empathy? Some wore them alongside their got respect? buttons that they received at the end of January.

The assembly included teachers sharing some of their classroom experiences this month.  It concluded with an awesome video produced by Gina, which highlighted our month’s effort.  If you would like to see the video, please click here  LINK  I promise you will love it!  (Check your emails for the password to view the video)

This month, Lower Lab Values HONESTY. I thought you might like to know a little about the Book of the Month, so here is the letter that is shared with the book that goes in every classroom, held in a special basket.  In this letter, you will find discussion points that you may like to use with your child. There is also a basket in the main office with our Books of the Month, if you have time to stop by and have a quick read.

Please also, check out the bulletin board, opposite room 141, if you have time.  It has a sampling of what Lower Lab Values across our grades.

Have a lovely weekend!
