On Wednesday, May 24th and Thursday, May 25th the Class of 2017 will participate in Lower Lab’s Annual Fifth Grade Olympics.  On Wednesday we will walk to Central Park’s East Meadow to participate in athletic events and on Thursday we will participate in academic events in the classrooms. (For the Athletic portion in the park, students should dress in sneakers, pack water and a picnic lunch and be prepared with sunscreen (and sunglasses and a hat if they’d like).  We have scheduled a rain date for Wednesday, May 31st.)

The Fifth Grade Olympics is a celebration of our Core Values. Throughout the year, students have been working on identifying and practicing these values through classwork and in Advisory. The values of: respect, responsibility, generosity, honesty, integrity and compassion are the theme of the Fifth Grade Olympics.

In order for your child to participate in the athletic portion of the event in Central Park, you will need to fill out and return the attached permission slip on or before Tuesday, May 23rd.  All interested chaperones are invited to attend, we will be leaving school at 9am and returning around 1pm.

Thank you and please let us know if you have any questions.
