LL Cares LogoPlease join us for a morning of fun at the New Roots Community Garden from 10am-1pm on Thursday June 8th, (no school!)
The farm is located at 670 Grand Concourse at the corner of 153rd Street. (about a 20-25 minute ride from 96th St on the 4/5/6). We will meet at the farm at 10am.
To learn more about the farm:
This project is open to up 25 people including students, teachers and parents. Siblings are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a chaperone.
Please have students wear sneakers, long pants, things they don’t mind getting dirty. They might also want water, sunblock or a hat.
The programming itself will probably be an hour and a half, but you are more than welcome to bring lunch and stay onsite to eat. The children will enjoy a farm tour, beekeeping demonstration and observation using our senses.
Please note, there are two beehives onsite. This time of year bees are happily gathering nectar and pollen and don’t pose any real risk, but an FYI in case of any allergies or concerns.
Please sign up (the child(ren) and the chaperone) using this link www.volunteersignup.org/APKDP
