The New Roots Community Farm in the Bronx, helps refugees to the US plant and grow food to nourish their families as they lay down New Roots in the US.
The kids toured and tasted various delicious items from the farm (strawberries, juneberries, arugula, collard greens and Chocolate Mint to name a few!) We learned all about the fascinating lives of bees and their hives and even got up close and personal with the bees themselves! We ended with the kids planting marigolds and peppers.
A gorgeous day for our city kids to get their hands dirty and learn about new ways to get involved in helping others!
