Dear Lower Lab Families,
As the final days of school approach, we would like to make you aware of a few requirements that will ensure a successful end of the school year and a smooth transition to the 2017-2018 school year. Please read this memo and have all materials in to your child’s teacher by Friday June 16th, 2017.
- Report Card Distribution
Report Cards will be distributed to all students on the last day of school, Wednesday June 28. If your child will not be present on this day, please send a self-addressed and stamped envelope (with your summer address). Please be sure to attach two Forever Stamps to this envelope. These envelopes will be stuffed by the classroom teacher (with your daughter/son’s report card) and mailed to you by the end of the day on June 28, 2017.
- Summer Correspondence: Class Placements & Summer Letters
Over the summer (in mid- August) the school shares class placements and a summer letter with each family. To facilitate this process, please send a self-addressed and stamped envelope (business size #10 envelope) with your child to school by Friday, June 16th. To ensure that these items get properly mailed to you, please affix two- Forever stamps and be sure to include your preferred address for the summer. Please be aware, that if we do not receive your Self Addressed & Stamped Envelope we cannot guarantee expedited arrival of the summer correspondence.
Note too that the classroom teacher collects the envelopes and submits the class set to Gina on Friday, June 16. In the event that you have more than one child in our school, you should plan to send an envelope for each child. See the image below for specific details on completing the envelope.
- Test Scores: Grades 3-5 Only
The ELA and Math Scores are typically released over the summer, and accessible via the NYC Schools Account. Each family of students in grades 3-5 should already have an account with NYC Schools Account. To access this account you will need your child’s OSIS number as well as your password. We encourage you to try to log-on and verify that you have access to the account before the end of the school year. In the event that you are unable to log on to your child’s NYC Schools Account please be sure to reach out to any member of the office staff by Friday, June 23, 2017. Please be aware that during the summer break, we cannot guarantee that someone will be readily available to support you with this matter, so please be sure to verify your account.
Thank you for your support with this matter and throughout the school year. We wish you and your family an amazing last few days of school, and a happy, rejuvenating summer!
