Thursday November 16th – Friday November 17th

If you would like to have your child shop at the Book Fair, please send him/her to school that day with cash or a check (made out to “Lower Lab School PTA”) in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name and class. If you are sending your child with a CHECK, please indicate in the memo section the amount you are permitting your child to spend, e.g., “Limit of $30”.

**Important! Please tell your child NOT to open the envelope until checkout time. We do not want any tears over of lost money!**

Your child will shop the Book Fair with their teacher and class during a specified time slot. This time slot will be communicated once all of the teachers have chosen a time/date that works for them.  Please talk to your child (and/or send in a note) about what types of items they are permitted to purchase. Most children want to spend every last dollar and often use their remaining pennies on pencils, bookmarks or novelty items. Since we cannot police that, be clear with your child about whether you are expecting change.

As a guideline, early reader books are $4 and up; picture books are $12 and up; chapter books are $6-$8 and most books for older readers are $8-$16.  Be aware that some books such as encyclopedias and activity books (e.g. Star Wars Legos) can be as much as $25.

You can also purchase a Gift Certificate for the teachers to purchase book for the classroom.  A gift certificate form will be backpacked home.  Please consider this for your child’s teacher – it is a wonderful way to contribute to our children’s classroom libraries!
