The school raised $1350.00

We’re sure most of the students know that three enormous hurricanes hit the United States and its territories last month alone. New Yorkers were hit by Hurricane Sandy in October 29th of 2012, so we know a bit about the impact that a major hurricane can cause.

Sadly, the destruction to our fellow Americans from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana, Hurricane Irma in Florida and the Caribbean and lastly by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico was devastating.  Lives, businesses and homes have been lost.  For children, especially, the impact of their loss can be extremely emotional.

As Americans, we know that we all pull together as a country, state, community and especially as a school to help communities in crisis both near and far.  So, on the ANNIVERSARY of our own Hurricane Sandy, let’s make a donation to help the KIDS of these recent hurricanes.

On October 30th, we will be taking a giant crayon bank to every classroom at Lower Lab to collect whatever money you can donate for this campaign which is being called LOWER LAB KIDS FOR KIDS.

Our donation will go support the NYC Department of Education relief effort for schools and students impacted by Hurricane Maria. Via the Mayor’s Fund.

Any amount of money you give will help–even a penny!  It all adds up!

This is really important PS77, so let’s support this amazing cause and show how

LOWER LAB KIDS can make a difference with our own hurricane relief effort

and raise lots of money!
