It’s hard to believe the school year is coming to an end! It’s been amazing to watch your children grow throughout this year, and we are so proud to see how they’ve each developed into a student ready for 3rd grade.
As the year winds down and we finish up our units in biography, our independent writing projects and multiplication & division, there are many important events that we’d like to remind you about. Please see the list of important dates below.
June 7 – No School for Students
June 8 – Field Day (chaperones chosen by lottery have already been notified via email)
June 11 – No School for Students
June 12 – Evening Science Fair (see Katarina’s blog for more information)
June 15 – No School (Eid al-Fitr)
June 18 – Neighborhood Projects Due at school
June 21 – Final Publishing Party at 8:30am
We hope you and your child are enjoying working on the Neighborhood Project. We are excited to see their final tri-fold boards, which should be brought to the classroom on June 18th.
As the summer months are approaching, please remember consistent reading routines can help your child maintain his/her reading level. It’s very common for children to slide back a level or two during the summer months, so please continue to ask your child to tell you about the books he/she is reading, read along with him/her, and encourage good reading habits all throughout the summer months.
We look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks.
All our best,
Allison and Robyn
