We are hosting a Lower Lab Quads tournament on Sunday, June 24th.  Some of you have expressed interest in getting your children involved in chess and this tournament is a great opportunity for beginners to get their feet wet and learn about scholastic tournaments.  Your participation will help support the PTA! The “quads” format simply takes the four highest rated players and groups them together to play each other.  Then the next group is the four next highest rated players, and so on, and so on.  It’s great because everyone in each quad is of similar skill level.  Don’t have an official rating?  No problem!  We will have a section for unrated players with a little extra supervision and instruction. Please consider joining us on June 24th.  Involvement with the chess community in NYC has been extremely rewarding as our children have made friends with kids from other schools and have learned great lessons about winning, losing, sportsmanship, strategy and critical thinking.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email lowerlabchess@gmail.com.  Click the image below for more details.
