The Lower Lab Afterschool program is sponsored by the PTA and organized by parent volunteers with 2 semesters per year.
The Lower Lab PTA runs an afterschool program for a fee and all profits go directly towards the PTA. Class options vary by semester and may include: Chess, Robotics, Computer Science, Sports, Hip Hop Dance, Mad Science, Newspaper, and DramaZone. The offerings change by semester. There is no after-school busing; therefore, parents or other adults, who are authorized by parents, must pick up students.
There are 5–6 classes offered daily with coverage until 5pm on all full days of school. On-site supervision is provided by a supervising teacher and teaching assistants. Classes are taught by outside vendors and Lower Lab staff. Pick-up is from school or an off-site location and class schedules range from one hour to two hours a week depending on the type of class.
