The Lower Lab Afterschool program is sponsored by the PTA and organized by parent volunteers with 2 semesters per year. There are 5 – 6 classes offered daily with coverage until 5pm on all full days of school. On-site supervision is provided by Lower Lab teacher assistants. Classes are taught by outside vendors and Lower Lab staff. Pick-up is from school or an off-site location by 5pm, and there is no busing home. COME PLAY WITH US! The Lower Lab PTA runs an afterschool program. Class options vary by semester and may include: Chess, Robotics, Computer Science, Sports, Hip Hop Dance, Mad Science, Newspaper, and DramaZone. The offerings change by semester. There is no after-school busing; therefore, parents or other adults, who are authorized by parents, must pick up students. The Beacon Program is a free program that services both schools and is available to all students in the building between three- five days per week concluding at 6:00 pm. Our parents also take advantage of afterschool programs at 92nd Street Y.
- The Beacon Program A free after school program funded by the city and run by the Stanley Isaacs Center. Grades 1-5 sign up June the previous school year. Kindergarten students receive lottery registration information in September. Participants must attend three to five days a week.
